Clogging problem of flatbed printer

If you know that you will not use printer for 3 days , you need do the ink flushing ink out from ink system.
Ink delivery system  is made up of  3 parts  the  Up steam part and middle part and down stream part.
The UP stream is made up by ink reservoir bulk ink bottles and ink lines.
The Middle part is the print-head carrier assembly.
The Down stream part is  made up by the capping,  pump and draining tube.
Down stream is most important part of the ink delivery system.

If the drain tube clogged, the vacuum pump will lost suction function and it can not suck the ink from the print-head nozzles and
   that will make print-head clogged.
The capping assembly in the  print-head service  station is very critical part,  it seals the print-head
from the air and also it vacuums the nozzles,  if it is wore out the print-head nozzles will expose to
air and will be clogged by dried ink.

if you can keep pump tube clear and capping  assembly has no leaking then you will eliminate  99% of the clogging issue.

Capping assembly                                                         Daily Procedure of the Maintenance

 1. Capping assembly: It is the rubber rectangle cap that seal the print-head when print-head is at service station. You need check it all the time make sure there is no leaking air.
and  need replace it every 3 month.

2. Drain silicone rubber tube : You need make sure no ink inside of the tube before leave for the day .
You move the print-head to the left side and drop solution in the rectangle capping  pad. Then  use syringe suck the  waste ink tube, do this couple time ,
and push print-head back to right side. Need Always Do this every day.

It only take you 3 minutes. If the ink dried inside tube it will take long time to fix it. You disconnect the tube from cap inject cleaner solution into tube from the tail push
residue out of tube. Some time you need inject solution into tube from both end and press tube to squeeze out the dried ink segment .

3. Damper , Make sure damper filter is through and no clogged ink residue. Check damper every 3 month. If you see clogged screen, you need replace it with new damper and if you clean the screen inside damper with cleaner solution.

                                                                           Troubleshooting

If you can do these procedures you will never get print-head clogging problem.
When you have clogging problem, first thing is to check down stream system, suck the ink from  tube,
check if the vacuum power is there ? if the capping leaking, if there is ink come out during vacuum, if the path from
cap to tube is open clear ? if ink flow out when pump rotating ?

If tube clogged you need disconnect it from capping assembly and use injection syringe inject the clean solution into it
push out the residue dried ink in the tube .

If cap assembly leaking , you need replace it.

After you check all the down stream parts and believe the yare good, you need check damper and  then print-head.
Sometime print-head can be fixed but for most time you just need replace it.
Inject the solution into the print-head from top and dissolve the dried ink in nozzles. You can see ink and solution is flowing out from the open nozzles.
