The industry's most affordable waterproof inkjet film
We worked hard on this one. After A LOT of testing and R&D, we
created what is undoubtedly THE BEST inkjet film on the market. SWI-TRD WP®
is a specially formulated clear film that produces very dense
black images using either off-the-shelf Epson dye-based ink or pigment ink. It
will work with SWI-TRDRIP®
and other software RIP's designed for black
image inkjet output. SWI-TRD WP™ is very smooth on both sides and has a
special back coating to prevent curl and static. SWI-TRD also comes in a
non-waterproof variety.
A Word About Waterproof and Non-Waterproof Film
So... which film do you need? SWI-TRD FILM or SWI-TRD WP®FILM?
It really depends on your needs. If you want to use off-the-shelf pigment inks
that come with the 4000, then WP is a must.
If you plan to use the
Epson serise, Roland, or Mutoh then you must use SWI-TRDWP®
& SWI-TRDINK®.
If you wish to use the 4000 with SWI-TRDINK®
then standard will work. If you have high humidity or just don't want to worry
about images getting smeared, then again, WP is for you. If you are looking for
an affordable solution and you are using Epson dye ink or SWI-TRDINK™ dye
ink, then our standard SWI-TRD
®
is fine. If you have problems with your ink drying because of humidity or just
the pressure of getting a job on press right now, then WP is a good choice. The
special micro-porous coating causes the ink to dry IMMEDIATELY!
Rolls or Cut Sheets?
Many customers assume the best economy is to buy film by the roll. The problem
is that some small format inkjet printers like the Epson1290 DO NOT print in
register when feeding off of a roll. If you want PERFECT registration on these
printers, purchase boxes of sheet film. Note: the Epson 4000, 4800,7400, 7600,
7800,9400, 9600, or 9800 have a different feeding mechanism and registration is
perfect using roll film.
